The world has changed since 1983 when I graduated with a Diploma in Acting from the Central School of Speech and Drama. In those days, a degree qualification was incidental to an acting career, in fact—here’s the important point—it was not necessary.
We the undersigned, appeal to the Principal, the Academic Board, the Board of Governors jointly and severally, of the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama to review their position on granting a Degree to Diploma graduates of the school. We ask that the review process include an opportunity to offer an in person presentation of the case from a small panel of Diploma Graduates to whichever individual or group has the executive power to change policy in this respect.
